  • Marijuana- Brain Functions, Abuse and Dependency, and Treatment (2013) -Paul Nims –MA, CRADC, CCDP-D BJC Behavioral Health — gave this presentation at the 2013 Educational Series “Ed Moses Presents: Taking ACTion to Build a Healthy and Safe Missouri” session on marijuana.  Nims describes the physiological affects of marijuana and the science behind dependency.




  • The Legalization in Colorado: The Impact-Volume 2  (2014)The purpose of this report and future reports is to document the impact of the legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational use in Colorado. T his is the second annual report on the impact of Colorado legalizing marijuana. It is divided into ten sections with each providing data on the impact of legalization prior to and during the creation of the marijuana industry in Colorado.

  • Taking ACTion Handbook(2015)– An information and resource guide to drug abuse prevention for parents and caregivers.  The book contains conversation starters for parents of kids of all ages (preschool – high school) as well as a detailed descriptions of some of the most commonly abused drugs.  Created and published by ACT Missouri.
  • 20122 PATS Study with Missouri Facts(2011)– The 23rd annual Partnership Attitude Tracking Study, sponsored by MetLife Foundation and The Partnership at, discusses trends in past-month marijuana use and general attitudes surrounding marijuana use.  ACT Missouri added Missouri facts, where appropriate, for comparison.
  • Marijuana: What You Should Know(2011)–  Use, behavioral effects, physical effects, and Missouri trends of marijuana use.  Published by ACT Missouri.
  • Marijuana Fact Sheet(2012)– A one-page breakdown on marijuana use in the U.S. as well as physical and economical effects of abuse.  Published by National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD).
  • Substance Abuse Fact: Marijuana(2015)–  This fact-sheet was part of a statewide facts project and contains facts about marijuana use in Missouri and at a national level.   Published by the Missouri Substance Abuse Prevention Network.
  • Marijuana Myths and Facts– A guide to the top 10 myths pertaining to marijuana perception including “marijuana is not addictive” and “marijuana us used to treat cancer”.  Published by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
