2007 MYAA MOA


Membership in MYAA offers:

  • Assistance with public policy

  • Youth development training and mentoring

  • Tool kits serving as mobilization and policy implementation guides

  • Media and marketing expertise

  • New range of options that make reducing underage drinking efforts easier

  • Electronic communications via newsletters and bulletin boards

  • Opportunity to participate in statewide campaigns that benefit local prevention efforts

  • Help in changing underage drinking norms

  • Strategies to decrease tolerance toward underage drinking

  • Access to training/resource pool of individual members

  • Access to a national network striving to reduce underage drinking

  • Coordinated statewide advocacy efforts


 
As a Coordinating Council, we expect:
  •  Provides the governing structure to MYAA

  • The Coordinating Council shall have 20-25 members (That number will be evaluated regularly, and changed as needed)

  •  Council member must attend 75% of all meetings (Special circumstances will be excused)

  • Provides leadership to the coalition

  • Council member will be a voting member of MYAA for coalition decisions

  • A membership agreement will be signed yearly

  • Must be actively involved in coalition planning


 

As a Member Affiliate, we expect:
  •  Help develop a communication system among MYAA, Support Centers and local communities

  • Share MYAA messages with your community members, local leaders and elected officials

  •  Develop and maintain relationships with local officials as well as state legislators

  • Assist with rallying grassroots legislative support as needed

  • Promote policy changes at the local and county level

  • Assist with rally youth support

(Individuals can move within the levels of membership, which will be evaluated as needed.)
