The spring take back effort was a great success for the entire state of Missouri. Together, Missouri collected 12,507 pounds of medications, up more than double the 5,148 pounds from the June 2010 take back.
Nearly every community hit record highs for collection, including Boone County, collecting 64,245 tablets – over 20,000 more tablets than the take back in June of 2010.
“Thank you so much for your outstanding work,“ said Scott Collier, Diversion Program Manager, St. Louis Division, Drug Enforcement Administration. “It was a pleasure working with all of you to coordinate this event.”
Collections were made from nearly 400 sites in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and South Dakota. That is double the number of collection sites nationwide. Nearly 90 of those locations were in Missouri.
